Harrisburg is the capital of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, in the United States of America. As of the 2000 census, the city had a population of 48,950, making it the tenth largest city in Pennsylvania, after Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Allentown, Erie, Reading, Scranton, Bethlehem, Lancaster, and Altoona.

Harrisburg Hilton: Really expensive. Really nice. Almost next door to HU.
Comfort Inn: Next to Passage to India. Probably a 10 - 15 minute walk to HU, but not particularly nice. Check TripAdvisor.

National Civil War Museum: The National Civil War Museum incorporates collections of artifacts, manuscripts, documents, photographs, and other printed matter that exceed 24,000 items. Although many items have been donated to The National Civil War Museum since its opening, the vast majority of its collections were acquired by the City of Harrisburg between 1994 and 1999 under the auspices of Mayor Stephen R. Reed.
State Museum of Pennsylvania: Located in the state capital of Harrisburg, The State Museum of Pennsylvania covers all aspects of Pennsylvania history and holds significant collections, that relate to some of America’s most seminal, well-known events as well as important, historical individuals. Situated next to the State Capitol building. Admission for adults is $3.
Harrisburg City Island: Most of the vendors leave after Labor Day, but it's a great place to go for a walk.
Midtown Theater: A theater in mid-town Harrisburg which plays various “artsy” films.
Strawberry Square: I guess it's a mall and a bunch of other things. It has a clock run by a billiard balls and often has entertainment during the day inside by the clock if your family is looking for something to do.
